When this service can help
An overflowing chamber, wastewater entering a property or several fixtures suddenly backing up can need prompt attention. Explain whether the situation is contained or getting worse, which parts of the property are affected and whether the premises can continue to operate. Those facts are more useful than simply saying the drain is blocked.
Common causes
Urgent drainage problems may result from an obstruction, a damaged section or a restriction elsewhere in the drainage route. The cause is not always apparent until access is checked. If neighbouring properties are also affected, mention that when calling so the scope of the problem and responsibility can be considered.
How we solve it
We ask for the postcode, affected fixtures, visible overflow and available access. On attendance, the engineer assesses the accessible drainage and the immediate problem. Where the pipe is blocked with dirty water, clearance may be needed before camera inspection is useful. We explain the proposed first step and charges. The immediate work focuses on the agreed drainage issue, using suitable clearance equipment where appropriate. Once flow is restored, we check accessible points and explain whether further CCTV investigation or repair is needed. Emergency clearance does not mean every hidden defect has been located or permanently repaired during the initial visit.
